about

I live in Maumee, Ohio. I’m married with a daughter, two dogs and a cat.

I always wanted to be a professional photographer but that didn’t pan out (parents said business school!) so there is no better than time now to become the best photographer (amateur or otherwise) that I can be!

When I was a lot younger I knew I wanted to be a photographer because I noticed how powerful some photos can be.  Today, things are no different.

Oh totally! Sometimes the inspiration goes or I have a few days where I dislike every picture I take, but the experimentation and endless potential are what keep me snapping away, plus this hobby has been a real bright spot for those times when other things in life are a drag. I’m trying not to fall into that rut of thinking I won’t be able to take truly good pictures until I get an expensive camera – for now I’m just going to continue to try and wring everything I can out of the one I’ve got. Thanks for the encouragement, hope you’ll keep stopping by, even when the output is less than ideal :)!

We all have good and bad days…I do agree with you that this hobby is all consuming and how passionate one can get with it..
you are so right about the fact that you don’t need an expensive camera to take “good” pictures..I believe when the time is right for you to look into a “better” camera because you feel that your creativity has exceeded what your present camera can
support..you will…until then keep up the wonderful work..thanks Chrisitine

  6. I know the feeling of wanting to get a Nikon D90… i held one last month and for several days i couldn’t stop thinking about it! :D Anyway did you took all photos in this blog with the A1000 IS? I’m always a fan of Canon point-and-shoots^_^

Thanks for dropping a comment on one of my posts. I’m still on the early stages of my photography as i just started last year; hopefully i could keep up hee hee!

Kudos to your amazing shots! :D

  7. Hi Odee-

Almost all of the photos on here were taken with the A1000 IS. I got the D90 in late December of 2010 and so I’ve switched over to using that, but I still carry around the A1000 IS – right now, it does better macros than the D90 (mainly due to the fact that I don’t have a macro lens for the D90).

I dreamed of getting a D90 for a few years now and the sticker shock was considerable. I got over it pretty fast, though, and I have not regretted parting with that much $$ because the camera is really nice to operate.

From what I can see, you’re off to a terrific start with your photos – I’ll definitely be swinging back by your blog from time to time to see what’s new!

  8. the only thing i may be getting a hard time around the D90 is its weight; i’m a Nikon D40 user and it’s one of the lightest. :) congrats on your D90! i like the lens that comes with it^_^

photography is indeed an expensive hobby; i’m getting a new lens this month!

sorry for all the rants hee hee… and thanks for subscribing to my blog, i just knew a minute ago. i’m definitely signing up for yours, too! :D
