colors of calm
A counterpoint to yesterday’s brights – the Picture Color prompt for today was to capture the colors of calm.
I collected these shells on Sanibel with my mom and daughter back in April, and then got the bamboo bowl at a local store. I still can’t get over how colorful these shells are, though they are probably some of the more delicate colors in our home.
Don’t want to give the impression that we live in a funhouse, but most of the decor in our home is on the lively and brightly-colored side. I know that comes as a big shock to you, right??
Wow, those shells really *are* colorful! And yet, still incredibly soothing and tranquil… a lovely pairing with the bowl to boot.

Good for you for surrounding yourself with color!! Maybe that’s why I feel so drab when I go home….. not enough color!!

I used the 35mm f/1.8 and put the bowl near my front door when the sun was going down and angling in toward the bowl. The aperture (2.8) made it easy to take the picture in the lower light…as did raising the ISO to 320.
